Partner with patients to decrease wait time

Clinicians and patients feeling the stress of increased wait times

By Abby, Cait, Joan, Margaret

On a normal day, clinic staff are pinched for time. Despite planning and meticulous scheduling, patients occasionally arrive late or the front desk is understaffed. To ease the burden of extended wait times for patients and clinicians, clinic staff should work in partnership with patients to communicate the importance of arriving early to their appointments.

The clinic will also implement a block scheduling method to provide structure to the patient visit. A team of regular volunteers would help to ease the burden of any decrease in staffing on a daily basis.
